Morgan McKinley is partnering with a client to hire a Market Development Manager to support the company's market expansion strategy in Malaysia. This role focuses on market research, identify growth opportunities, business analysis, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination to pave the way for future business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts deep-dive research into Malaysia's telco, cloud, and digital tech sectors to analyze competitor activities, regulatory updates, and emerging trends.
- Identifies new customer segments and business areas to draft market entry strategies, feasibility studies, and robust business cases for management review.
- Engages ecosystem stakeholders, builds key industry relationships, and coordinates initial discussions to nurture long-term partnership opportunities.
- Partners closely with HQ and internal teams (product, technical, legal, and finance) to assess operational risks, align commercial assumptions, and build cohesive business proposals.
- Maintains documentation, updates the opportunity pipeline, and delivers regular progress reports and data-driven strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, IT, Telecommunications, Economics, Management, or a related discipline.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in business development, market research, strategy, partnerships, or commercial analysis, preferably within the telco, ICT, MVNO, cloud, or digital services sectors.
- Proven ability to conduct deep market research, think analytically, and translate complex data into practical, actionable business recommendations.
- Exceptional cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management skills, with the comfort to work independently and interface across internal and external teams.
- Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with professional fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin is highly advantageous for regional and HQ communication.
