An established manufacturer within the engineered products sector is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is a hands-on, technically focused role with strong project ownership, offering the opportunity to lead manufacturing initiatives, support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement across production operations.
You will play a key role in delivering engineering projects from concept through to implementation, while also supporting and mentoring junior engineers within the team.
Lead the planning, design, and execution of manufacturing and engineering projects.
Apply advanced engineering principles to analyse and resolve complex technical issues, proposing practical and cost-effective solutions.
Support line extensions and new product introductions (NPIs), ensuring all technical and manufacturing documentation is prepared and maintained.
Develop, review, and maintain manufacturing specifications and related documentation.
Collaborate closely with production, quality, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency, quality, and cost.
Support, mentor, and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
Contribute to ongoing improvements in engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
Undertake additional engineering duties as required in line with business needs.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or higher), with a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent).
Approximately 3-10 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and work measurement techniques.
Proven experience delivering engineering improvements that enhance product quality and reduce manufacturing costs.
Experience supporting NPIs, process improvements, or production line changes.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and contribute effectively within cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented, results-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and support others.
