    Morgan McKinley has partnered with a well-established hotel in Killarney to recruit a Financial Controller. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with hands-on hospitality experience, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while driving operational efficiencies, reinforcing cost controls, and supporting overall profitability across all departments.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Financial Controller's duties will include, but are not limited to:

    • Overseeing and maintaining the hotel's financial records and accounting systems.

    • Preparing detailed monthly Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheet reconciliations, owner reporting packs, and payroll submissions.

    • Reconciling daily revenue reports to bank deposits, investigating discrepancies, and coordinating with relevant departments to resolve issues.

    • Completing weekly bank reconciliations.

    • Monitoring and producing weekly cost control reports and daily flash reports.

    • Managing and maintaining control of the hotel's sales ledger.

    • Generating additional ad hoc financial reports as required.

    Skills & Experience Required

    • ACA or ACCA qualification with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.

    • Proficiency in financial and operational systems.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and logically.

    • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to build and manage complex spreadsheets.

    • Prior experience within the hotel or hospitality sector is highly desirable.
