About the role
A rapidly growing apparel company is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Supply Chain Officer to lead HK & China's supply chain operations, with a particular emphasis on managing vendors in China. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our supply chain, including supplier and subcontractor management, inventory control, and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company's overall supply chain strategy, aligning it with the organization's business objectives
- Lead a team of 80-120 supply chain professionals, including managers and specialists in areas including sourcing, merchandising, logistics, and inventory management in both HK and China offices
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a China & SEA network of suppliers and subcontractors, particularly in China, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with quality and delivery standards
- Implement robust inventory management and manufacturing systems and processes to optimize stock levels, minimize waste, and maximize working capital
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, including disruptions, quality issues, and sustainability concerns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., merchandising, finance, operations) to ensure seamless integration and alignment across the organization
- Analyze data and industry trends to make informed decisions, drive continuous improvement, and identify opportunities for innovation
- Represent the company and serve as a subject matter expert on supply chain matters to internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
- 13+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain management, with a strong focus on working with apparel manufacturers in China
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful supply chain strategies that deliver measurable business impact
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization
- Deep understanding of global trade dynamics, including import/export regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficient in using supply chain management software, data analytics tools, and other relevant technologies
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or certification preferred
