The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Quality Technologist to join the EU growing team. In this role, you'll be a key player in ensuring the quality and reliability of the home appliance products, from initial design validation through manufacturing and final release. You'll use your technical expertise to develop and implement testing protocols, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and procedures for home appliances, covering performance, safety, and reliability.
- Conduct hands-on testing of appliances, including performance testing, functional testing, and safety testing.
- Analyze test data, identify trends, and prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to identify and resolve quality issues early in the design process.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on product specifications and designs.
- Develop and maintain quality control documentation, including test procedures, inspection checklists, and quality standards.
- Investigate customer complaints and field failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to home appliance quality and safety (e.g., UL, IEC, CSA).
- Mentor and train junior quality technicians.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of our quality management system.
- Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.
- Participate in the implementation of statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in quality assurance or product testing, specifically within the home appliance industry.
- Strong understanding of home appliance technology, including electrical, mechanical, and software components.
- Experience with a variety of testing methods and equipment, including performance testing, safety testing, and environmental testing.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., UL, IEC, CSA, Energy Star).
