A leading MNC freight forwarding firm has a promising business growth in recent 3 years with over 500 headcounts in APAC. Considering business expansion and recent developed centralised procurement in global office. They are hiring an Assistant Procurement Manager to manage the Long Haul's customers, space allocations, and carrier performance
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement activities related to transportation for its long-haul business partners
- Assist the Procurement Head in developing and implementing procurement strategies and pricing policies specific to transportation & tendering services
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and providers including but not limited to space allocations and over all vendor performance
- Evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure competitive pricing and favourable terms and conditions
- Prepare and issue requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and requests for information (RFIs) to potential suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the transportation procurement function
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in Supplier Management, Purchasing, Procurement, Facilities Management, or related subject
- Minimum 7+ years relevant experience in procurement preferably in MNC/ Shipping/ Freight Forwarding Companies
- Strong knowledge of long-haul transportation procurement processes, regulations, and best practices
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
