Our client is seeking a motivated Merchandiser with 2-3 years of experience in the apparel sector, particularly in vendor management and product development. The ideal candidate will coordinate between design, production, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality products that meet market demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage product sourcing, development, and evaluation processes with vendors.
Coordinate sample development, costing, and price negotiation.
Liaise with suppliers and factories to monitor production progress and quality standards.
Follow up on bulk orders from sample approval to delivery.
Collaborate with internal teams including design, technical, and quality assurance to meet product specifications.
Maintain accurate records of product development timelines and vendor communications.
Support problem-solving related to design, costing, quality, and delivery issues.
Assist in vendor onboarding and cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2-3 years of merchandising experience in garment/apparel industry, preferably with woven or knit products.
Experience in vendor management and product development.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
Diploma or degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile, Apparel Production, or related field preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of technical packages and product specifications.
Experience in sample development and quality control.
Understanding of garment construction and fabric types.
