Overview:
We are recruiting on behalf of our client's IBD team for an Expense Management Associate. The successful candidate will support expense oversight and financial reporting, helping to ensure policy compliance, control costs, and deliver timely insights that inform business decisions.
Role Summary:
As an Expense Management Associate for our client, you will work closely with the client's Expense Management team to review expense reports, enforce the firm's Expense Policy, and produce clear, actionable reporting for internal stakeholders across IBD/GCM and supporting functions. You will perform regular data analysis, maintain accurate financial records, and present findings to management to highlight cost trends and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze expense trends and prepare regular reports and presentations for management.
- Compute, classify, and record numerical data to maintain complete and accurate financial records.
- Conduct deep dives into existing reporting workbooks; standardize reporting and align processes across multiple teams handling expense and travel claims.
- Ensure expense report reviews and controls align with the client's policy; escalate and resolve compliance issues where appropriate.
- Liaise daily with stakeholders at all levels across IBD/GCM and supporting units to clarify queries and drive improvements.
- Support ad-hoc analysis and projects to enhance expense controls and reporting efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in quantitative data analysis, financial reporting, or expense management.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data cleaning); proficient with Word and PowerPoint.
- Fluent in English and Cantonese; able to read Chinese.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Highly organized and able to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communicator, team player, and high professional/ethical standards.
- Curious about modeling and interpreting data to drive improvements.
