Collections & Trade Counter Assistant
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Collections & Trade Counter Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous trade counter experience, ideally within the heating, plumbing, HVAC, or building services industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers at the collections area and trade counter, processing sales, preparing orders, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring a high standard of customer service at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist customers at the trade counter and collections area in a professional and friendly manner.
- Provide product advice and support to customers, using knowledge of heating, plumbing, or related products where possible.
- Process sales, returns, and customer orders accurately.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for collection and delivery.
- Check incoming and outgoing goods to ensure accuracy and quality standards are maintained.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the counter, collection, and warehouse areas.
- Replenish stock and assist with stock checks and inventory control.
- Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding order progress and collections.
- Keep up to date with new products and industry developments.
- Work as part of a team to deliver excellent service and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a trade counter, warehouse, sales, or customer-facing role.
- Experience or knowledge of the heating and plumbing industry would be highly advantageous.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Good organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good computer skills; experience with stock or sales systems would be an advantage.
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Manual Handling certification would be beneficial.
- Fluent English and the right to work in Ireland on a permanent basis.
