The Opportunity
A premier tier-one investment manager is expanding its centralized Data Capabilities Hub in Dublin. We are searching for an execution-focused Assistant Vice President to serve as the lead architect for our financial data ecosystem.
This is not a passive monitoring role or a traditional management position. You will sit directly at the intersection of investment operations and modern data infrastructure, personally driving the end-to-end integration of data flowing between our internal desks and external asset service providers. The mandate is to tear down fragmented reporting models and build a single, automated, and mathematically flawless "source of truth" for global finance.
Core Mandate & Focus Areas
- Data Lifecycle Automation ("Farm to Fork"): Take full accountability for constructing the pipelines that ingest raw, disparate external administrator feeds. Personally build the schema mapping, validation rules, and data structures required to unify this information.
- Hands-On System Architecture: Write expert-level database queries and model data flows within cloud-based analytics warehouses to replace legacy manual file manipulation. Build out robust, automated delivery mechanisms for final outputs.
- First-Principles Quality Engineering: Implement rigorous, algorithmic data-quality controls to catch anomalies instantly. Create automated oversight dashboards tracking pipeline health, data accuracy metrics, and process timelines.
- Operational Execution: Ensure the frictionless generation of complex financial data outputs-including Net Asset Value (NAV) components, investor-facing metrics, and institutional regulatory filings-without requiring hand-holding on the business logic.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as a technical translator between pure software teams and business users to gather granular requirements, streamline data pipelines, and navigate organized chaos in a flat corporate structure.
Profile Criteria & Experience
- Institutional Fund Fluency: Deep, fundamental knowledge of the alternative investment lifecycle, private markets, or asset management structures. You must have immediate, practical mastery of fund mechanisms (e.g., capital calls, redemptions, valuation methodologies, and TPA workflows).
- Technical Self-Sufficiency: A strong background in data engineering workflows, technical risk analysis, or middle-office analytics operations (experience in high-velocity risk/pricing or data migration groups inside premium fund admins or asset managers is highly valued).
- Tool Agnosticism & Execution: Proven mastery of complex database querying (SQL) and cloud infrastructure architectures. Comfortable utilizing data-routing/ETL layers and enterprise visualization platforms to build automated business solutions from scratch.
- Strategic Problem Solver: Highly curious individual with a track record of identifying structural inefficiencies, engineering automated workarounds, and operating autonomously without a blueprint.
- Sophisticated Communication: Ability to navigate relationships with senior leaders, defend technical decisions, and translate intricate pipeline data into clear operational insights.
The role offers a highly competitive base of €80,000 - €100,000 alongside an elite buy-side bonus and benefits package. Onsite in Dublin City Centre 4 days per week.
