We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Disputes technology team, responsible for building and enhancing scalable, resilient services that support the end-to-end dispute lifecycle. This role focuses on delivering critical financial workflows that ensure high availability, regulatory compliance, and strong customer experience.
You will design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality backend services and APIs. You will own features end-to-end, from design and implementation through deployment and production support. You will contribute to system architecture and design, ensuring scalability, resiliency, and performance, while building and enhancing systems that support the dispute lifecycle, including initiation, workflow progression, resolution, and arbitration.
The role involves implementing workflow- and state-driven processing models, integrating with data provisioning, queue management, and financial processing systems, and applying modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps to improve delivery quality and efficiency. You will troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, and Platform teams. You will participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidates should have strong experience in software development using Java (Spring Boot) or similar backend technologies, with proven experience building microservices and distributed systems. A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Agile and DevOps practices, is required. Experience designing RESTful APIs, working with event-driven systems, and using relational or NoSQL databases is expected. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex production systems are essential.
Drives the adoption of AI-assisted development practices across the full software lifecycle, leveraging tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude to accelerate coding, testing, and delivery while improving quality and efficiency.
Experience in payments or financial services is preferred, particularly in dispute processing, chargebacks, or transaction lifecycle management. Familiarity with workflow or state-machine-based systems and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure are advantageous. Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and operational best practices will also be valuable.
You are a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, comfortable working in complex, distributed systems and fast-paced, regulated environments. You communicate effectively, collaborate well across teams, and are passionate about building scalable, reliable, high-quality software solutions.
