A leading national authority driving Ireland's transition to a sustainable future is seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join their Finance Team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
Based in Dublin City Centre, this hybrid role offers the opportunity to work within a highly collaborative Corporate Services Directorate that oversees governance, finance and organisational operations.
You'll become a key part of the Core Finance Team, contributing to budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, and the preparation of year‑end accounts. You'll also support the management of payments, sales, and debtors while working closely with the Financial Accountant and colleagues across the organisation to uphold strong financial governance and deliver a high‑quality service.

Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
Assist with statutory accounts, year‑end processes, and audit requirements
Manage sales, debtors, and payment oversight in line with governance standards
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with financial procedures
Work closely with operational teams to provide financial insights and support
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting
Support the implementation of best‑practice financial governance across the organisation
A Level 8 qualification (honours degree or higher) in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
4+ years' experience in an accounts function OR A Level 7 qualification with 5+ years' directly relevant experience
Strong understanding of financial controls and governance
Ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team
Excellent IT skills, including strong proficiency with Microsoft 365
High attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational capability
Experience working within the public sector
Membership of a professional accounting body started or ongoing (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA)
Experience delivering strong customer service within a finance environment
