Morgan McKinley is proud to partner with a key client within the logistics and supply chain sector in the recruitment of a Sea Freight Operations Executive to join their expanding Air & Ocean Freight team based in Dublin.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating both import and export sea freight operations, ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of customer shipments while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Import Operations
- Manage FCL and LCL import consignments arriving into Ireland.
- Create and maintain shipment records within the CargoWise system.
- Coordinate shipping documentation and liaise with the internal customs brokerage team to facilitate import clearances.
- Communicate customs charges, duties, and VAT requirements to clients to ensure timely payment prior to cargo arrival.
- Review Bills of Lading and Incoterms to ensure correct operational handling.
- Arrange haulage and final delivery of shipments to customers.
- Work closely with billing teams to finalise invoicing and shipment costs.
- Resolve customer and account queries efficiently via phone and email.
- Maintain strong communication with customers and internal stakeholders throughout the shipment lifecycle.
Export Operations
- Process customer booking requests for export sea freight shipments.
- Verify rates and associated costs at booking stage to ensure accuracy and profitability.
- Coordinate collection transport for export consignments.
- Create export shipment files in CargoWise for both LCL and FCL shipments.
- Issue booking confirmations, including ETD and ETA details.
- Coordinate export customs entries through the internal customs team.
- Prepare and issue MBL/HBL documentation and confirm shipment-on-board status with carriers.
- Arrange document scanning and pre-alerts to overseas agents and partners.
- Support invoicing and cost finalisation with internal billing teams.
- Handle customer service and account-related queries in a professional and timely manner.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience within sea freight operations, including imports and exports.
- Strong working knowledge of freight forwarding processes and documentation.
- Experience using CargoWise or similar freight management systems is desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Customs clearance knowledge would be advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
