My client, a large corporate bank require an Operational Risk Officer for a 6-month contract. This role is to help identify and manage risks that could impact the business, particularly from failed processes, poor controls, or external threats. You should be a subject matter expert who can support the business by advising on risk policies, tools, and governance, especially in areas of third party/vendor risk. To be considered, you must 5+ yers of experience in the area of opertional risk.
Review and assess operational risks, and suggest improvements to fix root causes.
Act as an expert on managing issues, setting key performance indicators (KPIs), and tracking corrective actions.
Analyze performance reports to spot and reduce risk or compliance issues.
Work closely with internal teams and vendors to resolve problems and meet performance goals.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and respond to changes.
Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
Escalate and report control issues when needed.
5+ years of experience in operational risk, ideally within financial services or custody operations.
Experience with third-party/vendor risk management.
Strong knowledge of custody operations and related technology.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
