The successful candidate will join a maintenance and engineering team, with a primary focus on the installation, maintenance, and repair of plant and machinery within a manufacturing environment. The role supports safe, efficient, and reliable production through planned and reactive maintenance activities.
Install, maintain, and repair a wide range of plant and manufacturing machinery, including:
Form / Fill / Seal equipment
Canning and packaging machinery
Associated feed and conveyor systems
Utilities such as steam generation and distribution, compressed air systems, and safety systems
Diagnose faults and repair malfunctioning equipment using manuals, schematics, and standard procedures in a safe manner
Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance to maintain equipment at optimum efficiency
Perform mechanical maintenance work in compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations
Complete machine changeovers and lubrication activities to ensure smooth transitions between product types
Liaise with shift colleagues to ensure effective handover and continuity of work
Identify and address performance and efficiency issues in line with production and engineering priorities
Coordinate with external suppliers and vendors for spare parts and technical support as required
Comply with all site procedures relating to hygiene, safety, PPE, and working practices
Complete all required maintenance, quality, hygiene, safety, and spares documentation accurately and on time
Maintain a clean-as-you-go approach in all work areas
Carry out maintenance activities across multiple production, packaging, warehouse, utilities, and service areas as required
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a qualified Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing environment
Recognised mechanical maintenance or automation qualification (e.g. National Craft Certificate or equivalent)
Qualifications obtained outside the jurisdiction must be officially verified by the relevant national authority
Strong interest in preventative maintenance and ability to work on own initiative
Willingness and flexibility to work across shifts and varying schedules
Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG environments is advantageous
