As the Successful applicant you will work closely with and report directly to C-Suite and be responsible for sustainability strategy, driving delivery of the ESG roadmap embed sustainable strategy.
This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration to integrate sustainability into core business operations, ensuring alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. This is the ideal role for a strategic leader with a passion for sustainability, capable of driving meaningful change across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the SLT to evolve and deliver the sustainability strategy, aligned to the businesses corporate purpose and growth ambitions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including market leaders, academics, advisors, and strategic partners, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of ESG developments.
- Create a sustainability roadmap that translates long term goals into clear, actionable priorities and programmes across the company's full value chain.
- Lead delivery of a decarbonisation pathway across embodied and operational carbon, materials and energy
- Drive climate resilience and adaptation planning in line with TCFD/CSRD and evolving requirements
- Oversee biodiversity, water and waste strategies to support nature-positive development
- Support the evolution of the business's community investment and partnership programmes
- Oversee ESG reporting and ensure data integrity, transparency, and continual improvement
- Develop clear metrics, dashboards and insights for decision-makers across the business
- Partner with Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations teams, maintain awareness of emerging policy, regulation and investor expectations
- Deliver ESG insights and recommendations to the Leadership Team and Board, staying ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging sustainability innovations.
- Contribute to the company's annual Sustainability Report,
- Bring sustainability to life through clear communication and practical integration into everyday decisions
- Inspire and equip teams to own and be excited by the agenda
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Sustainability & ESG at a group level
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks, policy and best practice including European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), industry frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels within an organisation
- Experience in sustainability communications and integrating ESG principles into business strategy.
- A strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
