Head of Health, Safety & Environment
Location: Dublin (Hybrid)
A leading organisation operating within Ireland's critical infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Head of Health, Safety & Environment to provide strategic leadership across the organisation's Health, Safety and Environmental function.

Reporting into the executive leadership team, you will lead the development and delivery of a best-in-class HSE strategy, driving a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and environmental obligations.
The Role
As Head of Health, Safety & Environment, you will be responsible for leading the organisation's HSE function, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environmental performance and employee wellbeing across a complex operational environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering the organisation's Health, Safety & Environmental strategy.
- Leading and developing the HSE team while promoting a proactive safety culture across the business.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Acting as the organisation's ISO Management System Representative.
- Managing and continuously improving integrated HSE management systems, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Leading internal and external audits and ensuring effective closure of corrective actions.
- Providing regular HSE performance reporting to Executive and Board level stakeholders.
- Leading incident investigations, root cause analysis and organisational learning.
- Working collaboratively with senior leaders to embed wellbeing, operational excellence and continuous improvement across the business.
- Building strong relationships with regulators, external stakeholders and industry partners.
About You
We're looking for an experienced HSE leader with the ability to influence at executive level and drive strategic change across a complex organisation.
You will ideally have:
- A degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in senior Health, Safety & Environment leadership roles.
- Experience within utilities, energy, engineering, infrastructure, construction or another highly regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Experience leading HSE strategy, governance and organisational culture change.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience presenting to Executive or Board-level audiences.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and audit management.
- Proven leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
