We are seeking an Equipment Engineer to deliver complex engineering projects within a regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Senior Manager for Strategic Engineering Projects, you will lead the introduction and qualification of new equipment across drug product operations, including formulation, aseptic filling, lyophilisation, device assembly, inspection and filter integrity testing.
This is a hands-on, project-driven role suited to an engineer who enjoys translating new technologies into robust, operational solutions.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end delivery of engineering projects, managing scope, priorities, resources, timelines and stakeholders
- Scope and implement new equipment, processes and materials from concept through design, installation, commissioning and qualification
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and equipment issues ahead of start-up and handover
- Develop maintenance strategies and optimise spare parts for new equipment introductions
- Own change controls, specifications, engineering documentation, protocols and SOPs
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary site and multi-site teams, supporting root cause and cross-functional investigations
- Partner closely with system owners, maintenance teams, capital project engineers and vendors on upgrades and retrofits
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, EHS standards and internal quality systems
- Support project execution through occasional travel, as required
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years' engineering experience in biopharmaceutical, aseptic pharmaceutical, automated inspection or device assembly environments
- Demonstrated project management experience in a regulated manufacturing setting
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on exposure in high-volume manufacturing (advantageous)
- Experience working within GDP/GMP-compliant environments
- Familiarity with MS Office, MS Project, change control and document management systems
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and deliver practical, data-driven solutions
- Confident communicator with strong technical writing and stakeholder engagement skills
- Able to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
