Morgan McKinley are excited to be partnering with a leading state body to recruit an Enterprise Risk Manager on a permanent basis!!
We are seeking motivated candidates to collaborate with national and local State Authorities. This role focuses on implementing risk management initiatives aimed at preventing incidents that could lead to claims.
Successful candidates will play a critical role in safeguarding the wellbeing of staff, service users, students, visitors, and contractors, while advising on property risks across State estates, fleet, and other assets.
Key areas of expertise include operational risk, corporate governance, health and safety, insurance and indemnity, and environmental management.
Key Responsibilities
The work with client State Authorities spans risk evaluation, identifying national trends, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
Sample Initiatives:
- Risk Research Reports: Publishing insights into incident and claim trends, including topics like slips, trips, needlestick injuries, and workplace aggression.
- National Health and Safety Initiatives: Partnering with the Health and Safety Authority on safety guidance for schools, content sensitivity, and managing workplace stress.
- Indemnity and Insurance: Advising public bodies on insurance requirements.
- Policy Guidance: Supporting government directives on hybrid work, facility maintenance, and procurement.
Principal Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site visits, inspections, and audits
- Analyse incident and claims data from the National Incident Management System (NIMS) for insights
- Share findings with State authorities to support national and local risk mitigation
- Provide risk management, indemnity, and insurance guidance
- Advise on national-level risk policies, regulations, and standards
- Develop, sponsor, and support safety initiatives
- Lead education and training programs
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders
Required Skills and Experience
Candidates must have:
- 5-10 years of experience leading projects in relevant fields
- A degree (NFQ level 8) in engineering, science, public health, social science, or risk management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications in risk management, occupational health and safety, or insurance
- Knowledge of standards like ISO 31000, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001, and familiarity with the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies
Essential Skills:
- Strong analytical and organisational abilities
- Excellent written communication
- Discretion in handling confidential information
- Diplomacy and stakeholder management skills
- A valid driver's licence
- Sound knowledge of risk, indemnity and insurance

Office Location:
- The role involves a blend of on-site client visits state-wide, risk assessments, advisory services, and reporting, with a hybrid work structure.
- The Office is located in Dublin however the team are a national team due to flexible work structure.
