Credit Underwriter
About the Role
We're working with a well-established financial services company that's looking to add an experienced Credit Underwriter to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with detail, making sound credit decisions, and being part of a supportive, collaborative environment.
The role is based in West Dublin, with a hybrid work model (2 days in the office). It also offers a 30-hour working week over 5 days, providing a strong work-life balance, along with great career development opportunities and a solid benefits package.
What You'll Be Doing
- Reviewing finance applications and making decisions within your approval limits
- Referring applications outside your authority to management with clear recommendations
- Making sure all credit decisions follow company policies and standards
- Working with the wider team to improve systems and processes where needed
- Building good working relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Supporting with general team tasks and projects when required
What You'll Need
- At least 3 years' experience in credit underwriting or a similar financial role
- Strong judgement and attention to detail
- Good knowledge of credit principles and an ability to assess risk confidently
- Solid Excel and general Microsoft Office skills
- Comfortable working in a team and handling pressure when needed
- A financial services qualification is helpful but not essential
- MCR accreditation (or willingness to complete it on the job)
- Fluent English - written and spoken
