Role : Business Development Manager

My client, one of the largest and most influential retailers of pharmaceutical products in Ireland, is looking for a business development manager to join their team.
Role Specification
- Responsible for building trusted relationships with pharmacy customers and partners
- Liaise with the procurement team and provide advice and feedback in relation to correct inventory management
- Manage the development of the sales pipeline for internal products and services, including wholesale, franchise, digital dispensing solutions, POS systems, and other service offerings
- Work with marketing and the broader sales team to develop a personalised approach to service sales
- Improve commercial terms with current partners where possible
- Manage customer contracts, loan agreements, and other legal engagements
- Assist the customer service team in communicating customer requirements across the business and ensuring they are addressed appropriately
- Provide regular reports on market pricing, volumes, and insights gained from customer engagement
- Review company practices to ensure customers receive maximum satisfaction from their interactions
- Liaise and collaborate with internal teams to ensure annual financial objectives are aligned and key performance indicators-both quantitative and qualitative-are met
- Lead a continuous improvement process across sales and operations functions
- Develop and execute business strategies to attain organisational goals and shareholder expectations
Requirements
- Proven experience in customer service, sales, or a related position
- Experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries is essential; service or retail industry experience is desirable
- Demonstrated success in developing and managing relationships within the pharmacy sector
- Strong focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
- High levels of integrity, determination, and resilience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and work within teams, and effectively manage internal and external stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships
- Excellent organisational skills and a strong work ethic
- Full clean driving licence
- Flexibility to be both field-based and office-based, depending on business needs
