Accounts Assistant (Part-Time, Permanent)

The Opportunity
We are delighted to partner with a well-known international FMCG company to recruit a Part-Time Accounts Assistant for their growing finance team in Dublin 1. This is a permanent opportunity offering flexibility, excellent benefits, and the chance to work within a fast-paced, high-volume environment supporting multiple sites across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively in a small, supportive finance team and is confident taking ownership of key finance processes.
Working Pattern & Flexibility
- Part-time: 3 days per week (22.5 hours)
- Flexible options available depending on candidate preference:
- 9:00am-1:00pm, Monday-Friday
- OR Monday-Wednesday (full days)
- Standard office hours:
- 9:00am-5:00pm (30 min lunch) or 9:00am-5:30pm (1-hour lunch)
- Flexibility to start from 8:30am
Hybrid Working:
- Initial 2-3 months onsite for onboarding and training
- Flexibility to move to a hybrid model thereafter
- Team typically prefers being onsite for collaboration
Key Responsibilities
As Accounts Assistant, you will provide essential support across a high-volume finance function, including:
Accounts Payable:
- Manage AP processes for core suppliers (300-400 invoices per month)
- Upload and process invoices onto the system (high level of automation in place)
- Ensure accuracy and reconcile against store records
- Process supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
Financial Operations
- Bank reconciliations
- Posting journals and maintaining accuracy across ledgers
- Management of liabilities across trading stores and lease entities
- Company credit card administration
Month-End & Reporting
- Assist with accruals preparation
- Support P&L reporting per store and general ledger activities
Payroll Support
- Fortnightly payroll coordination (approx. 200 employees)
- Liaise with outsourced payroll provider
Systems
- AccountsIQ (user-friendly, modern system)

- Reporting into a small, collaborative finance team

Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone with:
Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar accounts/finance role
- ATI qualification desirable but not essential

- Confident communicator who is comfortable speaking up
