Morgan McKinley is partnering with a well-established and evolving organisation to appoint an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager. This is a key leadership role requiring a hands-on, people-focused manager with strong organisational capability and a passion for continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for warehouse and transport operations, overseeing end-to-end activity including goods receipt, inventory management, order fulfilment, and customer delivery. This role offers the opportunity to drive positive change within a growing business while leading and developing a high-performing operational team.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Transport Operations

Plan, organise, manage, and actively participate in day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, and distribution.

Ensure inventory accuracy, availability, and control, minimising discrepancies and managing returns from customers to suppliers.

Oversee transport fleet operations, including fleet performance, compliance, records, driver management, and driver performance.

Proactively plan warehouse capacity to support inbound stock and customer order volumes.

Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised warehouse environment.

Analyse operational performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement efficiency-driven initiatives.
People Leadership

Provide strong, visible leadership and clear direction to the warehouse and transport teams.

Recruit, train, manage, evaluate, and develop warehouse employees to support both current and future operational needs.

Build effective working relationships with internal departments, branches, and key stakeholders.

Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance culture that promotes teamwork and professional development.
Skills & Experience

Proven management experience, with 3-5 years in a leadership role within a warehouse, logistics, or operational environment.

Background in warehouse operations and transport is highly desirable; candidates from retail or FMCG environments will also be considered.

Working knowledge of transport regulations, fleet management, and compliance standards is an advantage.

Strong IT capability, with experience using ERP systems and Microsoft applications.

Third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline is advantageous.

LEAN or continuous improvement qualifications are an advantage.

Full driving licence required; C licence desirable.

Health & Safety qualifications are an advantage.
