Senior Finance Manager (Fixed-Term Contract - 12 Months)
Location: Onsite - Cork, Ireland
Our client is seeking an experienced finance manager for a 12 month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Financial Close & Reporting
- Oversee full month-end close process, ensuring accurate balance sheets, P&L, and financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) cycles, including invoice processing, reconciliation, and cash application.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash positioning.
- Hands-On Accounting & Controls
- Be actively involved in day-to-day finance operations-journal entries, accruals, intercompany reconciliations, and control checks.
- Drive process improvements, ensuring robust controls and streamlined workflows between AP, AR, and general ledger.
- People Leadership & Subsidiary Oversight
- Supervise and mentor a small finance team and possibly a subsidiary's finance function, promoting accuracy, compliance, and professional development.
- Lead by example with a hands-on, supportive leadership style, ensuring the team delivers timely, high-quality outputs.
- Manufacturing Sector Expertise
- Apply prior experience from a manufacturing environment-understanding inventory accounting, cost allocations, overheads, and production variances.
- Translate manufacturing operations into clear financial insights, supporting strategic decisions and operational planning.
- Operational & Strategic Collaboration
- Prepare and present management accounts, reporting variances to key stakeholders swiftly.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, payroll, and other business units to support broader financial objectives and business performance.
Requirements
- Qualifications:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Experience:
- Proven background in hands-on financial management, especially within manufacturing or similar operational sectors.
- Strong track record in month-end closing, AP/AR control, balance sheet reconciliation, and reporting accuracy.
- Demonstrable experience in managing or supporting finance functions in subsidiaries or multiple entities.
