Senior Data Engineer

My client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience to join their organisation based in Cork. This is a permanent role.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize large scale data pipelines
  
  
• Work with technologies like Spark, Airflow, Python, SQL
  
  
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and platform engineers
  
  
• Ensure data reliability, performance, and security across systems
  
  
• Mentor junior engineers and influence technical direction

Skills and experience:

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related fields

• Strong hands-on experience with cloud-based data infrastructure

• Solid programming in Python, SQL, and distributed systems (e.g., Spark)

• Experience with data warehousing tools (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery)

• Familiarity with CI/CD, orchestration tools (Airflow), and real-time data
