Procurement Specialist
About the Role
As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting high-quality services through strategic and operational procurement. You will be instrumental in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of goods and services, while ensuring compliance with public sector procurement regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day procurement of medical, clinical, and general supplies and services.
- Conduct market research and identify the best-value suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Support and execute the full tendering process, including publishing on eTenders, vendor evaluation, and contract management.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers from purchase request to delivery and invoice reconciliation.
- Use SAP and procurement systems to raise purchase orders, log receipts, and manage GRNs.
- Monitor procurement budgets and report on variances and expenditure.
- Prepare reports for audits and senior management on procurement performance, contracts, and spend analysis.
Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience in procurement, supply chain, or related fields, ideally within a healthcare or public sector setting.
- A third-level qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline (minimum Level 7).
- Demonstrated experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Familiarity with national procurement guidelines and tendering platforms such as eTenders.
