Job Title: IT Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer
Role Type: Contract (Initial 6-month contract, with likelihood of extension)

We are seeking an experienced IT QA Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for ensuring the high quality, performance, and security of our software solutions within an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong balance of manual testing rigor and automated framework creation, working closely with cross-functional development teams across Europe/global locations.
Test Planning & Execution: Design, write, and execute end-to-end test strategies, detailed test cases, and test scripts for complex software applications.
Automation: Build, maintain, and execute scalable automated test frameworks for API and UI testing.
Defect Management: Identify, log, track, and re-test bugs, working closely with software development teams to drive swift resolution.
Agile Integration: Actively participate in Sprint ceremonies (Planning, Daily Standups, Grooming, Retrospectives) and advocate for a "shift-left" quality mindset.
Regression & API Testing: Conduct rigorous regression testing and test RESTful/SOAP APIs using tools like Postman or REST Assured.
Collaboration: Liaise with Product Owners, Software Developers, and DevOps engineers to ensure requirements are fully testable and clear.
Experience: 3+ years of dedicated hands-on experience in Software Quality Assurance (preferably within a contractor or fast-paced Agile environment).
Automation Tooling: Hands-on experience with automated testing tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium Webdriver, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium).
Programming Languages: Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language used for automation scripting (Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript).
API Testing: Solid experience testing APIs via Postman, Swagger, or code-level API suites.
Database Knowledge: Strong SQL skills for database validation and test-data preparation.
Defect Tracking: Experience using Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
ISTQB Certification (Foundation or Advanced Level).
Experience with Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Knowledge of non-functional testing principles (Performance/Load testing with JMeter or security fundamentals).
Prior experience contracting with enterprise-scale software, FinTech, or Healthcare systems in Ireland/EU.
Must hold a valid Stamp 4 visa, EU Citizenship, or Irish passport (Must have the legal right to work in Ireland without sponsorship).
