Job Title: Head of Financial Planning & Analysis

Role Purpose:
The Senior Head of FP&A will lead the Financial Planning & Analysis function, playing a critical role in driving the financial performance and strategic decision-making of the retail/wholesale business. This position will be responsible for providing insightful analysis, developing robust financial plans, and partnering with senior leadership to optimise business outcomes in a dynamic and competitive market.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead FP&A Function: Oversee all aspects of the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and performance reporting. Develop and implement best-in-class FP&A processes and systems.
Drive Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support strategic initiatives, business planning, and scenario analysis. Provide recommendations to senior management on key financial decisions.
Business Performance Analysis: Lead the analysis of financial performance, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and growth. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Business Partnering: Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain) to provide financial insights, challenge assumptions, and influence business decisions.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Direct the development of the annual budget and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational plans.
Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, the board of directors, and regulatory bodies.
Inventory & Margin Management: Provide financial guidance and analysis on inventory management, pricing strategies, and margin optimization to maximize profitability in the retail/wholesale environment.
Capital Expenditure Analysis: Evaluate and prioritize capital expenditure requests, ensuring investments align with strategic priorities and deliver optimal returns.
Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
Systems & Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance FP&A processes, systems, and tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Extensive experience (10+ years) in a senior FP&A role within a large retail/wholesale organization.
Proven track record of success in driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making.
Deep understanding of the retail/wholesale industry, including key drivers, trends, and challenges.
Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting expertise.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and BI tools (e.g., Hyperion, Power BI).
Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-oriented environment.
