Head of Finance Service Delivery & Vendor Governance
Location: Cork
The Company: A leading Irish retail and wholesale group with a legacy of over 150 years and a massive international footprint.
This is a high-level strategic position responsible for the overall "health" of the company's outsourced finance operations. You won't be managing the day-to-day accounting processes; instead, you will act as the Service Architect and Contract Governor, ensuring that third-party partners (BPOs) deliver high-quality, resilient, and value-driven services across all finance domains.
Strategic Vendor Governance: Act as the primary point of contact for the Strategic Partner (BPO). You will manage the contract, monitor performance against SLAs, and lead quarterly business reviews to ensure they are meeting their legal and service obligations.
Stakeholder Partnership: Build strong relationships with the CFO and the wider Finance Leadership Team. You will translate their business needs into clear service expectations for the third-party provider.
Service Catalogue Management: Define and continuously evolve what "good service" looks like. You will identify opportunities to expand the scope of outsourced services to better support the company's growth.
Problem & Incident Management: Act as the "Level 2" escalation point for major service failures. You won't just fix the fire; you will lead the root-cause analysis to ensure the provider prevents the issue from happening again.
Transformation Support: Partner with the Finance Transformation team to implement new systems (like S/4HANA) and ensure the outsourced model is flexible enough to adapt to these changes.
KPI & Performance Design: Establish and monitor a transparent set of Finance KPIs. You will coach "Tower Leads" on how to manage their individual vendor interactions effectively.
Experience: Significant experience in a Finance Shared Services (SSC) or BPO environment, ideally within a large, complex multinational.
Vendor Expertise: A proven background in vendor governance and performance monitoring. You understand how BPO contracts and commercial frameworks actually work.
Influencing Skills: The ability to influence senior leadership and strategic partners without needing direct authority over them.
Analytical Mindset: You can dissect complex performance data to identify trends, risks, and "value realization" opportunities.
Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business. A professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) is highly desirable but your experience in service management is the priority.
Leadership Impact: This is a pivotal role where you can embed a culture of "Service Excellence" across a massive organization.
Hybrid Flexibility: Work within a "Work Smart" model that balances home working with collaborative time in the Cork or Dublin offices.
Career Growth: Join a company that is famous for its commitment to personal and professional development and its positive impact on the community.
