About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fixed Asset Accountant to join our finance team on an initial 6-month contract. This role will be responsible for managing and maintaining the fixed asset register, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the month-end close process.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Process additions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments in line with company policies.
- Review and reconcile fixed asset accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS/US GAAP.
- Prepare and post monthly depreciation and amortization journals.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Assist with internal and external audit queries related to fixed assets.
- Partner with project managers and operations teams to track capital expenditure (CAPEX).
- Ensure compliance with company capitalization policies and accounting standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements for fixed asset management.
Key Requirements
- Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CPA, ACA, CIMA) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in fixed asset accounting, preferably in a medium to large organisation.
- Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP in relation to fixed assets.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
