    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as a cross-site technical authority in controls, mechanical engineering, and systems integration.

    • Define, maintain, and enforce engineering standards and playbooks across design, debug, and build phases.

    • Drive technical excellence in controls programming and mechanical design, ensuring seamless integration across all machine builds.

    • Lead customer-facing technical engagements-from design reviews through FAT/SAT-acting as the primary technical assurance point.

    • Collaborate with Sales and Program Management to assess technical feasibility, accurately scope projects, and build customer confidence.

    • Oversee debug and integration risk, leading structured problem-solving efforts for complex escalations.

    • Champion the adoption of digital twin and simulation tools to de-risk and accelerate commissioning activities.

    • Mentor and develop engineering talent across disciplines, strengthening technical capability and succession planning.

    • Ensure all engineering processes comply with technical and regulatory standards.

    • Influence and align cross-functional leaders to drive adherence to engineering standards, even without direct line authority.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering.

    • 15+ years of experience in automation or machine building, ideally within the life sciences or medical device sectors.

    • Expert-level knowledge of Controls Engineering, complemented by strong Mechanical Engineering expertise.

    • Proven experience leading customer-facing projects through design, debug, FAT/SAT, and validation stages.

    • Demonstrated success managing and influencing within a matrix organization, balancing cross-site and cross-functional priorities.

    • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with customers, sales teams, and technical staff.

    • Familiarity with vision systems and industrial communication protocols.

    • Strong understanding of relevant regulatory and industry standards.
