As this business expands, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the finance department from the ground up. Because the business is in a start-up phase, day-to-day processes are currently quite manual, offering a hands-on professional the unique chance to take full ownership, bring order to data, and help build out future systems.
This role is based onsite (5 days per week)
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of end-to-end Accounts Receivable operations and cash-flow management. You will serve as the crucial link between sales, finance, and external client networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Take complete ownership of day-to-day AR operations, including daily invoicing, cash flow tracking, and managing the AR ledger.
- Conduct debtor outreach, perform credit control calls, and build strong relationships with customer finance departments.
- Manage the credit insurance process and assist with internal/external audit preparation.
- Act as a key liaison between the internal sales team and finance to resolve account queries promptly.
- Work through high-volume, manual datasets using advanced Excel to maintain financial accuracy and streamline workflows.
- Support the Financial Controller with month-end routines and ad-hoc financial duties as required.
What We Are Looking For
- AR & Credit Control Experience: Proven track record managing end-to-end Accounts Receivable ledgers and debt collection.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Outstanding capability with Excel to navigate, clean, and manage manual spreadsheets and reports effectively.
- Industry Background: Previous experience in operations, logistics, transport, or supply chain environments is a strong advantage.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a personable, engaging approach to build trust with customers and internal teams.
- Start-Up Mindset: A proactive, hands-on attitude with the ability to work independently, navigate manual processes, and adapt to a fast-moving, evolving environment.
