Employment Type: 6 Month Contract Initially - On site ~2 Days a week
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and oversee critical software development and transformation projects for a key healthcare client based in Cork. This role focuses on driving software change initiatives across the back office, with the potential for developing the CX function into a standalone product in the future. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software delivery, project lifecycle management, and Agile methodologies, particularly Agile SAFe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead the full lifecycle of key software development projects, from initiation to closure.
- CX Function Development: Oversee the software change processes across the back office, with an eventual goal to transform the CX stream into a product.
- Project Initiation & Planning: Develop initial project proposals, timelines, and project documentation, engaging with sponsors and key stakeholders.
- Execution: Collaborate with internal teams, external suppliers, and cross-functional departments to meet project goals and deliverables.
- Monitoring & Control: Track and manage resources, budgets, timelines, risks, and dependencies to ensure timely project delivery.
- Agile Transformation: Actively lead the effort to implement Agile SAFe methodologies across the organisation, championing best practices and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across the organisation, particularly with C-Suite and executive-level stakeholders. Communicate project status and updates clearly and confidently.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, guiding them through the full software development lifecycle while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Project Closure: Ensure smooth handovers, prepare training materials, document lessons learned, and complete formal project closure procedures.
- Communication & Reporting: Deliver decision papers, prepare professional reports, and present updates to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of IT project delivery experience, particularly focused on software development projects (non-infrastructure).
- Proven track record of delivering end-to-end software projects, including requirements gathering, user stories, development, and deployment.
- Background in application development with a shift towards IT project management is preferred.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Agile SAFe.
- Experience in leading Agile transformations is a strong advantage.
- Ability to build relationships, influence, and gain support across various teams and departments.
- Comfortable presenting to and engaging with C-Suite and executive leadership.
- Formal PM qualifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) are highly desirable.
