Accounts Assistant - Construction Sector

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading construction business in Cork who is experiencing rapid business growth and a strong pipeline of projects. To support this ongoing expansion, they are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Accounts Assistant / Administrator to join their established finance team.

This role will be a full time permanent position and is 5 days on site in the office.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Accountant, you will support the day-to-day finance function across various tasks:

• Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
• Overseeing stock control
• Processing Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) administration, contract notifications, and payment authorisations
• Preparing payment runs for subcontractors and suppliers
• Assisting with month-end accounting tasks
• Supporting the Accountant with financial administration and continuous process improvements
• Handling general accounts administration and ad-hoc duties as required

Requirements:

• 2+ years previous experience working within a construction, sub-contracting, or civil engineering business is highly beneficial
• Proven bookkeeping or accounts administration experience
• Practical knowledge of Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) processes and Revenue Online Service (ROS) portal operations
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); experience with construction/accounting software is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills, reliability, and a proactive attitude
