This structure gives you a distinct professional advantage. You will manage high-level, direct relationships with the Central Bank of Ireland and navigate complex regulatory frameworks, all while enjoying the autonomy, sanity, and support of a close knit, local office.
Your Impact and Ownership
Instead of being a small cog in a massive corporate machine, you will be the dedicated regulatory voice for the Irish branch. Working closely with the local Branch Manager and reporting to the Senior Compliance Manager in the UK, your focus will be on practical, protective compliance.
- Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary local point of contact for the CBI, managing local returns, the Consumer Protection Code (CPC), and Minimum Competency Codes.
- Operational Integrity: Oversee compliance reviews for local sales, claims, and marketing materials to ensure everything aligns with Irish regulatory standards.
- Boardroom Exposure: Support the Branch Manager with high-level reporting for the boards, giving you direct visibility into executive decision-making.
- Future Scope: While this is an individual contributor role today, the firm is structuring this position to naturally evolve into a regulated control function as the department grows.
The Foundations for Success
We are looking for a professional who understands Irish regulations but is ready to step away from the rigid corporate playbook.
- Irish Financial Services Exposure: You bring 1 to 2 years of compliance experience within Irish financial services, insurance, or a relevant Big Four portfolio.
- Regulatory Knowledge: A solid grasp of the CBI's expectations, the Consumer Protection Code and Fitness & Probity standards.
- Professional Development: You hold, or are actively working toward, an ICA Certificate, Advanced Certificate in Compliance or a CHC qualification.
- The Right Mindset: You value cultural fit and empathy. You understand that compliance is about enabling a business to do good, not just finding reasons to stop progress.
