My client is award-winning, highly regarded and a Certified B Corporation, and this role reports into the Chief Risk Officer with responsibility for the Compliance and Financial Crime function.

In this key role for my client, you will be responsible for leading a small team and will work closely with the senior leadership team and hold the external regulatory defined offices of SMF 16 and SMF 17.

The role will require you to partner with a variety of internal stakeholders, and externally you will engage with the FCA, HMRC and LSB amongst others.

Specific responsibilities will include the following:

    • Coordinate administration and governance arrangements, ensuring compliance with legal and governance obligations
    • Lead the Compliance team including setting strategy and owning reporting for 2nd line
    • Take a strategic lead in setting financial crime strategy as MLRO
    • Support and challenge the 1st line in setting their risk appetite
    • Strategic assessment, review and monitoring of compliance risks and controls
    • Provide Compliance and Financial Crime expertise to the change agenda and support and challenge in relation to new products and processes

To be considered for this role, you will ideally need to be degree educated with a qualification in business, risk or banking.

You will possess retail banking experience and be able to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills with 1st line particularly. It is essential that you have a strong eye for detail and excellent communication skills, and the drive to implement ideas and ability to interpret and analyse regulatory requirements.

A working knowledge of the development of Compliance controls, and experience of Compliance and Financial Crime systems, controls and frameworks would be very beneficial.

My client is a collaborative and supportive company with an outstanding reputation, and flexible working is on offer with the successful candidate ideally in the office at least 2 days per week.

Morgan McKinley and our client are passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion, and we seek individuals from the widest talent pools and are committed to recruitment processes that are fair for all, regardless of background and personal characteristics. If you feel you meet most, but perhaps not all the requirements listed, we'd love to hear from you.
