My client is a global international payments organisation, who specialise in assisting both individuals and businesses with sending money overseas. They are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their Key Accounts team covering the UK and Ireland, to help grow the retail side of the business. Job Title: Retail Business Development Manager
Package: up to £55,000 base salary plus commission and benefits
This is a new business, B2B Sales position and you will be responsible for bringing new key agents on board who will in turn offer my clients international payments solutions to the public. Your role will be to expand my clients portfolio of key accounts within the UK and Ireland which will likely be large retailers or similar. The sales cycles for this will be relatively long at around 4-6 months and you will be selling to a range of senior external stakeholders. Once a client is onboarded, the account will be passed over to an Account Manager, however you will still earn commission on that account for a period of time. The role will be predominantly home and field based, however you will most likely be required to be in the London office one day per week.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a B2B field sales position, ideally selling to large retailers in the UK and Ireland. You do not need to have experience in the foreign exchange industry, what's important is that you understand how to sell to and get a foot in the door with large retail clients. You might have experience working within the FMCG industry, selling new products to large supermarket chains or perhaps you have experience working within payments, selling card terminals to retailers. You must be able to demonstrate success meeting sales targets within a similar sales role. Please remember that this is a hunter sales role and will be almost 100% focussed on new business sales. If you are looking for an account management role, this is not for you.
