THE ROLE & TEAM

Based in Dublin and with the benefit of flexible working arrangements, this Procurement Manager position is a new and key role within Hostelworld. You will be responsible for the design, ongoing development and running of this standalone procurement function. It is an excellent career move for someone who wants to have a significant impact on procurement within a scaling business.

As this is a newly created position, you will be able to influence how the function is set-up and to sell the benefit of a stand-alone procurement function to Hostelworld stakeholders and colleagues. The role requires a mix of hands-on procurement as well as driving the function from a strategic basis. Reporting to the General Counsel and working closely with the Finance department, the purpose of the function is to deliver optimum value and reduced risk from Hostelworld's commercial relationships with its suppliers and partners.

 

Hostelworld is open to the role being 4 days per week.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Proactively deliver cost savings and cost avoidance to the business, through the development and implementation of an annual Procurement Plan. Benchmarking and research will be key success factors.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for the achievement of cost savings through procurement.
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end supplier sourcing projects in accordance with best practice and internal procurement policies.
  • Responsibility for operational oversight of all sourcing project tasks and associated milestone delivery, ensuring a strong control environment.
  • Negotiation of commercial and contractual terms, developing SOWs and pricing templates will be required from outputs of RFQ/RFP to be included in commercial contracts with suppliers (based on Hostelworld legal templates/ supplier contracts).
  • Continuous evaluation of corporate supply and commercial risks.
  • Pro-active and high energy customer service to internal business partners will be expected.
  • Build a network of strong professional relationships with key vendors and internal business partners.
  • Regular presentation of project updates and engagement of stakeholder groups will be required to be delivered to all levels, ensuring all necessary governance procedures are fully complied with.
  • Lead the development of enhanced management information within the financial systems to improve the control, analysis and reporting of expenditure, savings obtained and performance of suppliers.
  • Manage the supply chain risk and improve ESG/ sustainability.
  • Act as a Procurement ambassador ensuring the benefits and high standards delivered to stakeholders are upheld.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Min 8 years procurement experience with a strong track record of business partnering
  • Business/Technical Degree Min, IIPMM/APICS
  • Understanding of Project Management principles
  • Exceptional interpersonal, networking, negotiation, influencing, and communication skills are essential with evidence of a proactive approach and creditable outcomes
  • Ability to demonstrate a drive for results and cost savings within a pressurised environment to strict timelines.
  • Appreciation of the customer, their needs and how to meet them.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent decision making and prioritisation capabilities.
