Or client, a national leader in the waste management and recycling industry, are looking for a Logistics Operations Manager to join their expanding Operations team in Dublin

Ireland's leading Utility Company would like to appoint a Senior Operations Manager for its household division. Based in Dublin, the ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and managing the daily operation of the business. You will be responsible for the smooth collections household customers on a weekly / bi weekly basis. You will be entrusted with a large fleet of lorries trucks and vans, 200 + employees. You will have direct reports in multiple depots around Ireland.

The position would suit a manager who is proactive and has an excellent background in general management & ideally from within the national utilities industry with knowledge of the customer base. We are looking to speak with motivated and driven individuals with previous management experience who wish to advance not only the business but themselves as well.

The Role:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of people
  • Analyse the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
  • Identify and resolve potential future issues by implementing solutions and smoothing the process flow between the warehousing, storage, supply, production and shipping areas before the issues effect overall operations.
  • Manage carrier performance, ensuring reliability of supply, whilst optimising all transport activities.
  • Ensure that quality of work or service is maintained
  • Develop strong business partnerships with key stakeholders from Commercial, Finance, Supply and Operations
  • Proactively provide business insights and analyses in support of multiple ad-hoc initiatives and analyses including Business Development activities.
  • Embed a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across all facets of the organization
  • Accountable for building and shaping an industry leading commercial function with a relentless focus on accelerating bottom line growth and market share gains.
  • Prepares reports for senior management by collecting, analysing, and summarizing data for various key performance indicators.

The Person:

  • Management and Customer Service experience strong administrative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead
  • Comfort working with budgets, payroll, revenue and forecasting Strong communications skills
  • 6+ years of experience in a similar or related role
  • Mental resilience, an ability to work under pressure and to navigate through ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical ability to quickly identify trends and convert data into key business insights.
  • Capable of driving business profitability by working cross functionally
  • A passion for achievement; integrity and drive with a strong desire to make things happen
  • Customer focused individual with the ability to understand the customer requirements in order that operations solutions meet / exceed customer expectations.
  • It is expected that the successful candidate will already be operating at this level or ready to take this step with a short lead-in.
