Job Description

Are you an ambitious, highly detailed and experienced Finance Professional? Our client a well known healthcare institution are looking for an experienced CFO to lead their organisation.

Chief Financial Officer - Cork

Morgan McKinley is delighted to bring to market a senior executive hire for a renowned and respected organisation in Cork.

Reporting to the CEO of this highly reputable healthcare institution, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the day-to-day finance function to meet current and future business and financial requirements for the organisation. In addition the CFO will have direct responsibility for the Information and Communications Technology function, procurement, supply chain management, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis & negotiations, insurance, relationships and partnership compliance and private & institutional financing.

This is a senior leadership position and this person will take a lead role in all financial decision-making and provide strategic advice and support for the senior management team. As part of this role, he/she will be a key member of the senior leadership executive group.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Lead the financial strategy for the organisation, apply critical thinking skills along with financial acumen to the long term goals of the organisation
  • Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained
  • Support the CEO with input into and in the delivery of strategic objectives and plans
  • Overall management of the finance function including the preparation of timely management information which supports the wider executive team
  • Overall responsibility for the planning and budgetary process
  • Support and guide the IT Manager on the continuous development of systems and the integration of systems and workflows
  • Responsibility for liaison with external bodies including revenue and other service providers
  • Mentor and develop a team approach, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.

The successful candidate will have significant experience (7 to 10 years) in leading a finance function and will have a professional accountancy qualification at a minimum (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA). We are seeking a commercially oriented finance professional with good communication, leadership and senior stakeholder skills. Exposure to leading sizeable teams is vital in either a medium to large sized indigenous business or multinational corporate.
