Principal Automation Engineer

Overview of role:
Become part of a well-established and growing multi-disciplinary team delivering automated equipment solutions from concept through to full implementation
Machine control system software design, development & commissioning
Individual contributor role - expert in programming of automated machines
A great opportunity to work on the design of high-tech engineering applications
Main Tasks:
- Design and integrate control system software for automated machines including PLCs, Robotics, Motion, HMI, SCADA, Vision
- Develop, test, commission & support machine control software
- Support our Technical Writer in creating validation documentation required for regulated industries (URS, FDS, FAT, etc)
- Specification of control system components
- Collaborate closely within a multi-disciplinary project team throughout an entire project life cycle
- Provide technical direction & support to other controls team members
Experience:
- 10yrs+ of PLC & HMI experience essential, preferably with Allen Bradley
- Expert knowledge of automated machine design, specification & development
- Proven experience with robotics, motion control, machine vision, pneumatics etc

- Needs to work well in a multifunctional team
- Driving Licence and ability to travel (infrequent)
