I am partnering with a largely impactful Charity on a Head of Finance position - this Senior position combines strategic leadership with hands-on financial planning and operational oversight.
The Finance Department provides a range of Financial services in support of the Society's primary mission which aims to make a positive impact to people's lives. You will lead the Finance Department alongside the Director of Finance and Corporate Services and you will be supported by a team that is managed by the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial and management reporting processes
- Implement and maintain a strong financial control environment ensuring compliance with relevant
legislative requirements - Ensure integrity of annual financial statements
- Financial planning and analysis, including the budgeting and forecasting processes
- Contribute to the overall organisational strategy as part of the senior management team
- Develop process improvements to enhance reporting capabilities and drive efficiencies
- Manage relationships with auditors, bankers, investment advisors, insurance brokers, and other professional partners
- Lead change initiatives within the finance function while supporting broader organisational changes
- Oversee recruitment, training, development, and performance management of the finance team.
Qualifications:
* Professional Accounting qualification
* Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
* Demonstrated experience delivering systems or process improvements
* At least 2 years of team management experience
* Experience using an accounting software, and a CRM system
* Excellent MS Excel skills
Desirable:
* Experience in leading and managing internal audits
* Experience working with Business Central (or Navision), MS Dynamics, and Power-BI
* Advanced Excel skills; complex formulas and automation techniques
* Experience in a not-for-profit environment
