Engineering Director
A leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Engineering & EHS Director to provide strategic leadership across engineering, maintenance, facilities and site safety.
This is a senior site leadership position with responsibility for ensuring the site's engineering infrastructure, operational reliability, compliance and investment strategy.
The Role
Reporting into the site leadership structure, you will lead a broad technical and operational remit spanning engineering, maintenance, facilities, utilities, EHS and capital investment.
Key responsibilities will include:

Providing strategic leadership across Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities and EHS functions.

Developing and implementing engineering and asset strategies to improve reliability, uptime and operational performance.

Leading significant capital investment and site development programmes from concept through to delivery.

Overseeing critical utilities, infrastructure and maintenance systems within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Driving continuous improvement, operational excellence and a strong culture of accountability.

Leading, developing and mentoring multidisciplinary technical teams and future leaders.

Maintaining high standards across health, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.

Working closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain and senior leadership teams to align technical priorities with wider business objectives.

Managing engineering budgets, investment priorities and longer-term site plans.

Strengthening risk management, contingency planning and overall site resilience.

Supporting the development of the site's future engineering and operational capability.
About You
You will be an established engineering leader with significant experience within pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
You are likely to have:

A degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Significant experience leading engineering and maintenance functions within a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of reliability, asset management, utilities, facilities and engineering operations.

A proven track record delivering complex capital projects and investment programmes.

Experience managing sizeable multidisciplinary teams and developing engineering talent.

Strong understanding of EHS requirements within a regulated manufacturing setting.

Experience managing budgets, contractors, suppliers and major engineering programmes.

The ability to operate strategically while maintaining a strong understanding of site-level operational requirements.

Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical, operational and corporate functions.
