My client, a Global Insurance company, is looking for a Data Modeler to design and maintain enterprise data models for our Azure-based lakehouse built on Databricks and Delta Lake. You will translate business processes into dimensional and relational models that power analytics, reporting, and data products, bridging business stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities

Translate business requirements, KPIs, and reporting needs into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

Design and maintain dimensional models (facts, conformed dimensions, SCDs) and 3NF models for core domains.

Partner with Azure data engineers to implement models in Delta Lake and Databricks.

Define and enforce modeling standards (naming, metrics, SCD patterns).

Ensure models are optimized for BI/self-service tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft Fabric).

Document models, data dictionaries, and metrics; support data quality and governance.
Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience in data modeling or data warehouse development, including dimensional and relational modeling.

Strong SQL skills and expertise with cloud analytics platforms, preferably Azure.

Familiarity with Databricks lakehouse concepts and Delta Lake.

Experience designing models for BI/self-service reporting tools.

Strong communication and documentation skills to collaborate across technical and business teams.
Preferred Skills

Knowledge of Azure Databricks features (Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables) and broader Azure analytics stack.

Experience in regulated/data-sensitive industries (finance, healthcare).

Familiarity with data governance, cataloging, and master data management.
