On behalf of our client, a market leader in the manufacturing sector, we are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to join their Environmental and Water Division. Due to impressive business growth, this is a role designed for a high-energy professional who can identify new opportunities, develop key client relationships, and help shape the future of the division.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and strategic lead management.
- Convert leads into high-value sales, managing the process from initial discovery to successful closing.
- Maintain and grow existing customer relationships, ensuring long-term loyalty and account health.
- Monitor pricing structures and cost analysis to ensure all deals meet agreed margin targets and contribute to overall profitability.
- Build solid relationships with internal functions (Marketing, Product Development, and Operations) to ensure seamless solution delivery.
- Utilise the CRM system to lead sales forecasting, providing accurate insights and progress reports against KPIs for senior management.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences to enhance visibility and build strategic partnerships.
Experience required
- Proven track record in a Business Development or Sales position within the construction or mechanical industry.
- Demonstrated ability to sell technically complex solutions to contractors, consultants, or public-sector clients.
- Ability to negotiate competitive terms while protecting margins and ensuring optimal commercial outcomes.
- Experience using CRM platforms to track pipelines and drive results.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is considered an advantage.
- This is a field-based role requiring national travel, with occasional international travel.
