Senior Automation Engineer

Long term hourly rate contract for an experienced Automation Engineer. This is a full time on-site role based in Cork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the introduction of automated equipment replacing manual process steps.
• Responsible for delivering complex automated equipment from concept through to process introduction.
• Accountable for bringing the equipment to a repeatable and stable state through process development and validation activities.
• Control system design for industrial automation equipment from concept stage.
• Liaise with clients and the project design team to develop control system design specifications.
• Liaise with automation vendors and keep up to date with the latest automation technology trends.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Level 8 Degree in Electronics systems, Mechatronics, Automation or Controls Technology or a related field is required.
• 5+ years' experience in the Automation field, preferably in the Medical Device industry.
• Experience of design of PLC / DCS based Control Systems.
• Design and project experience should be mainly focused in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Sectors.
• Willing to travel to vendors as required.
