Reporting to the National Security Manager, the Security Projects Manager is a key member of the Security team and is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a number of key security upgrade programs including fencing, security doors and security systems (e.g. access control, CCTV, intruder detection, automatic gates and electrical shutter doors). The purpose of this role is to deliver a highly effective Project Management Service from conception through to completion
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the management of project delivery including budget, scope, programme, quality, safety and statutory approvals through all phases and gates from concept through to handover.
- Preparation of papers and presentation at investment and contract approval committees as required for approval of security capital spend and contract authorisation.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Senior Business Stakeholder/Managers to ensure successful capital projects delivery.
- Create, review and manage project schedules to identify critical path, progress, lead times and project sequences.
- Project manage design, planning/statutory processes, procurement, construction and commissioning activities to ensure that projects meet their delivery dates.
- Develop security capital budgets and submission papers for Price Control submissions.
- Carry out regular reviews of project progress, budgets, changes, risks and issues, and ensure that reports are produced and circulated on an agreed timeline.
- Manage and direct third-party resources to deliver the security capital projects portfolio including Engineering Consultant (Project Managers, Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors), Main Contractors and specialist vendors.
- Manage the procurement of security capital works frameworks. Completion of Tender Document, management of all queries etc and completion of tender assessments.
- Manage and authorise all commercial aspects of contracts including, issuing POs, approving invoices processing/approving interim payments and agreement and close out of the final account.
- Delivery of construction projects in line with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements and ensure compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.
- Identify areas of unsatisfactory performance and undertake Fault Analysis; proactively recommend and implement solutions; modify policies and procedures as required.
- The role requires flexibility to extend working hours, work across regions (South, Southeast, West and Midlands) as required addressing project needs.
- Participate in the on-call rota if required.
Skills & Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience delivering multiple projects from conception through to completion.
- Relevant third level qualification in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Full clean Driver's License.
- Experience delivering civil works / security system installations desirable.
- Proven experience in delivering projects and system upgrades across multiple sites.
- Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organising and prioritising with attention to detail.
- Experience with identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas and implementing solutions.
