Morgan McKinley is representing a key client in the appointment of a Sea Freight Operations Executive to join their established freight forwarding team.
Reporting to
Operations Manager
Job Purpose
To provide a professional, efficient and customer-focused sea freight operations service to both internal and external customers, ensuring shipments are managed effectively from booking through to final delivery and payment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process shipment bookings for forwarding operations.
- Monitor shipments from the initial customer booking through to final destination and customer payment.
- Provide a consistently high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
- Liaise with local and international vendors, agents and service providers to secure competitive rates and high-quality services.
- Coordinate with transport vendors regarding collections and deliveries.
- Process sales and purchase invoices, resolving any customer or creditor invoice queries as required.
- Respond to rate requests and prepare and issue accurate quotations.
- Maintain an awareness of customs clearance procedures, including SADs and associated requirements.
- Support the ongoing development and growth of the company's sea freight services.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide holiday and absence cover within the operations team.
- Offer administrative support to other freight departments when required.
- Attend occasional customer visits and meetings.
- Assist with operational and business improvement projects.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be assigned from time to time.
