Role Overview
The NPI Quality Engineer ensures that all new customer products are introduced efficiently, meeting customer and IPC standards. You will be the primary interface for NPI Quality, ensuring thorough documentation, compliance, and opportunities for product and process improvement are captured during the set-up phase. Your role will provide a structured, procedure-based approach to drive successful New Product Introduction and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Manage all quality approvals for first-time NPI introduction.
- Generate standardized NPI Quality templates, plans, and associated documentation.
- Develop team-compiled Control Plans, FMEAs, and process validation requirements.
- Conduct First Article Inspections and NPI reporting.
- Implement step-by-step SOPs covering all NPI phases, including supply chain, component selection, and process suitability.
- Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives based on NPI and prototype builds.
- Oversee QSR validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) for NPI activity.
- Introduce objective transfer-to-manufacturing approval processes, ensuring seamless release to production.
Who We're Looking For
- Degree/Diploma in Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience (5-10 years) in PCBA assembly.
- Strong knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly lines and post-SMT processes (ICT, Flying Probe, Functional Test).
- 2-3 years' experience in Quality Assurance or Regulatory Affairs in electronics manufacturing.
- In-depth understanding of IPC-A-610 standards and NPI Quality controls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to write SOPs, training materials, and regulatory documentation.
