Our main activities span the full project lifecycle of our core business, including establishment, management, land sourcing, investment, valuations, infrastructure development, and core operations. We are a profitable and well-capitalized organization renowned for providing a highly professional service offering.
This role is based at our Head Office in West Cork, leading a team of approximately 20 staff and reporting directly to the General Manager and the Board of Directors.
The Role: Financial and Strategic Leadership
The Financial Controller will be a key strategic partner to the management team, taking full control of the Company's financial and administrative functions to optimize overall performance and contribute directly to company strategy.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Provide leadership to the Company's finance and administration function to optimize overall performance.
- Strategic Contribution: Join the management team and participate fully across all matters of strategic importance, contributing directly to the development of Company strategy across all areas of the business.
- Reporting & Compliance: Prepare annual budgets and monthly management accounts, providing ongoing performance monitoring. Ensure the company is fully tax compliant and that financial systems are robust and compliant.
- Working Capital & Treasury: Manage the company's debtors and creditors and focus on optimizing its working capital.
- Operational Partnership: Act as a critical liaison with field teams nationwide to assist on costings, returns, grant applications, and other ad hoc queries.
- Grant Management: Liaise directly with field teams and relevant government departments regarding project grants.
Candidate Attributes
- Professional Qualification: Be a qualified member of a recognized accountancy body.
- Commercial Acumen: Must be commercially astute, technically strong, and capable of driving business performance through the finances.
- Technical Skills: Be familiar with the use of an accounting package (such as Sage/MS Access/Database management).
- Data Proficiency: A high degree of proficiency in Excel is a significant advantage (e.g., Sumifs, VLOOKUPs, Pivots).
- Integrity & Administration: Possess a high degree of integrity, be an excellent administrator, and demonstrate strong time management and prioritization skills.
